WLHS Course Change *REQUEST* Form

Students wishing to submit a Course Change *REQUEST* must fill out the Google Form found here.

Please remember to ensure the following steps are completed PRIOR to filling out this form:

  • I have checked with my Guidance Counselor to see if the switch is possible.
  • I have met with my Guidance Counselor and discussed the status of my credits so that this switch will not hinder the amount of credits I need to graduate.
  • I have consulted my proposed course change request with BOTH teachers involved (if 2 teachers applies to the situation).
  • I have ensured that this course change request will NOT exceed the permitted number of study halls allowed.
  • I have spoke to my parent(s)/guardian(s) about my course change request and they support this decision.

College Visit During the School Day Protocol

If you are planning on visiting a college during the school day, please follow this simple 3-step process found here, and see your Guidance Counselor with any questions. Thank you!

Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others,
as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.
I Peter 4:10

Every student at West Lutheran has been uniquely blessed with gifts that God desires to be used to serve Him and others in His kingdom. Students are able to identify God’s plan of service for their adult life as they recognize and nurture their God-given talents and abilities. West Lutheran offers many opportunities for students to nurture their spiritual, academic, social, and physical gifts and to try new activities to learn more about themselves.

It is our goal in the College and Career Counseling Department to help students discover the plans God has for them after their time at West Lutheran. These plans might include higher education in bachelor and associate degree programs, technical training, ministry, the military, or the workplace, all according to the gifts God has given our students.

Our School Counselor meets with every student individually to review academic progress, plan future academic coursework, and begin researching the various options after high school.  Our Counselor guides upperclassmen and parents through the steps of preparing for the ACT, researching post-secondary options, and registering for college. A summary of all student visits to the Guidance counselor is shared over email with parents and cooperative dialogue about future plans for students is always welcome.

Each spring, West Lutheran High School hosts a college fair of more than 20 public and private colleges and universities in Minnesota and surrounding states, as an additional resource for students and families in the college search process.
