I know that my Redeemer lives; What comfort this sweet sentence gives!
He lives, he lives, who once was dead; He lives my everliving head.

He lives to silence all my fears; He lives to wipe away my tears.
He lives to calm my troubled heart; He lives all blessings to impart.

He lives and grants me daily breath; He lives, and I shall conquer death.
He lives my mansion to prepare; He lives to bring me safely there.

(Christian Worship 152 vs. 1,5,7)

Never before have these words meant so much to me as they do this Easter. On March 17th, the Lord called my father, Daniel, home to be with Him in heaven. He was a called worker for 41 years, and he faithfully sang and taught this song to his students many times over. This song and its message allowed my family to get through the difficult days following my father’s passing. The Holy Spirit has given me faith, and he has used my parents, teachers, pastors, and family members to teach me God’s Word daily and provide me a solid foundation for times of difficulty, trouble, and sadness.

This strong foundation is so important for our students as they continue to grow as Christian young men and women. With all the unknowns in our world, it is critical that we all have the one thing that is most needful: God’s Word taught in its truth and purity. West Lutheran is a high quality Christian high school in our community, formed to ensure our students continually grow in their faith, while preparing them for this world and the difficult situations that come their way. The faculty and staff work with the students to build this solid spiritual foundation for the rest of their lives. As they study God’s Word, all students learn their sins are forgiven and that through Christ’s death and resurrection, He has prepared a mansion for us in heaven.

We hope to provide this blessing of a Christian education to even more students in the future. Currently, West Lutheran is expecting a large freshman class for the 2021-2022, around 50+ students. Praise God for this wonderful growth! We humbly ask for your continued support of this valuable ministry.

Thank you for your prayers for our faculty, staff, and students. May the Lord grant each of you a blessed Easter knowing that the tomb is empty because Christ has risen. He has risen indeed! Hallelujah!

Yours in Christ,
Dave Gartner
