Fundamentals of Music:

Grade Level: 9
Course Credit: 0.6
Prerequisite(s): None

Description: Students are introduced to the art of singing and exposed to the many different ways they can express themselves through this art form. Sight-singing, ear training, and music theory are also taught. Students in this class are members of the Freshman Choir and perform at all school concerts. Attendance is a grade requirement.

Concert Band:

Course Credit: One
Prerequisite(s): Ability to play a band instrument or consent of instructor.

Description: Proper playing techniques and appreciation of music are taught in this performance oriented class.

Chorale:

Grade Level: 10
Course Credit: 0.6
Prerequisite(s): Fundamentals of Music or teacher consent.

Description: As students prepare literature for the purpose of performance in a concert setting, they study the elements of music and the art of musical expression. A great deal of time is also devoted to developing sight singing skills and proper choral singing techniques. Attendance at all performances is a grade requirement.

Prerequisite(s): Fundamentals of Music or teacher consent.

Description: As students prepare literature for the purpose of performance in a concert setting, they study the elements of music, the art of musical expression, and proper choral techniques. Attendance at all performances is a grade requirement.
