Spring 2010 Blood Drive

 Life is a precious gift from God. On May 12, 2010, West Lutheran High School students, faculty, staff and parents helped preserve that gift by participating in the Spring Blood Drive in the WLHS gymnasium. The event was sponsored by the WLHS Teens for Life group. The day began with a ham and eggs breakfast for anyone giving blood. There were 47 registered donors, six walk-ins, six deferrals, 14 first-time donors, and one ALYX donor. In all, 42 units (pints) were collected and donated to Memorial Blood Centers of Minneapolis. Since the first Blood Drive at West in March of 2007, the students, faculty, staff and parents of West have given 239 pints of life-saving blood. Thanks to those who donated food and funds toward the breakfast and to those parents who helped with preparation and clean-up of the meal. Thanks especially to Principal Merl Meitner for his support and to the students, faculty, staff and parents who donated and helped preserve God‟s precious gift of life in others.
